Our Statements of Faith

This assembly accepts the Bible as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice for the purpose of maintaining general unity of statements of faith.

  1. Inspiration of Scriptures – We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, known as the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, as originally given by the Holy Spirit.  They are the express revelation of God to man and the final authority for faith and conduct.  (2Tim 3:16; Heb 4:12)
  2. God – We believe in one God revealed in three coequal, distinct person:  the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  (Matt 3:16; 28:19-20; Eph 2:18)
  3. Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the Word personified, who through His virgin birth became the God-Man.  He lived a sinless life and became the only sacrifice for the sins of the world through His death, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of the Father.  (John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:26-35; 1Cor 15:3-4; Acts 2:22, 24, 32-33a)
  4. Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead.  He is the one who is active in the world today.  The Holy Spirit indwells and seals the believer at the new birth, comforting, teaching, and leading.  We believe the “baptism” in the Holy Spirit is a subsequent experience and is available and important to all Christians to empower us to “live the life” including being witnesses.  We believe in and encourage the use of the gifts of the Spirit.  (John 14:16-17, 26; Acts 1:4-5, 8; 2:1-4, 38; Rom 8:14-16, 26-27)
  5. Man – We believe that man (Adam) was originally created good and upright; however, man voluntarily transgressed and fell and, thereby, is spiritually dead and away from God.  (1 Cor 15:21-22; Rom 5:12; Rom 3:23)
  6. Salvation – We believe man’s only hope for reconciliation with God is to receive the gift of salvation provided through the redeeming death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Salvation comes only from grace through the personal heart-felt faith in the effectiveness of Christ’s blood to cleanse from sin and is manifested in a changed life marked by repentance to God for sin.  Although salvation is a gift, according to Acts 17:30, all men everywhere are commanded to repent.   (Eph 2:6-10; Rom 5:8, 17-19; Acts 3:19)
  7. Heaven & Hell – We believe in the doctrines of eternal punishment for the lost and eternal bliss and service for the saved; hell for the unsaved and heaven for the saved.
  8. The Church and its Mission – We believe the church is anointed to be the hands, the feet, the body of Jesus on earth today.  It consists of born-again believers and is that through which the Great Commission is carried out.  (John 14:12; Matt 4:19, 28:18-20; Mark 16:17-18; 1 Cor 10:33-11:1)
  9. Sanctification – We believe in an instantaneous yet progressive work of separation from sin through the power of the Holy Spirit.  (2 Cor 6:17; Rom 12:9)
  10. Divine Healing – We believe devine healing is in the atonement.  (Isa 53:4-5; Ps 103:1-3, 107:20; Matt 8:16-17)
  11. Second Coming – We believe in the imminent, personal, premillennial second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1Thess 4:15-17; Titus 2:13; 2Pet 3:1-4; Matt 24:29-44)
  12. Ordinances of the Church – We believe that believer’s water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances of the church and should be practiced regularly.  (Acts 2:38; Rom 6:3-10; 1Cor 10:16-21)

Life Song Church Core Values

Genuine Love – It’s what God showed to us through Jesus Christ and what He requires us to show each other as well as the rest of the world.  (John 3:16; 1 John 3:16; Rom 12:9-10; Gal 5:13-14)
Heartfelt Unity – It’s what the devil fears the most, what we (the church) need to be perfected, and what the world has to see in us, to believe that Jesus was in deed the very Son of God.  (Ps 133:1; Gen 11:6; Eph 4:1-3; Phil 2:14-15; John 17:20-23)
Uniqueness and Value of Every Believer – You are an awesome creation of God, no accident.  You were conceived in the heart of God in ages past, to be revealed at this point in history, to be a part of something great.  (Ps 139:13-18; Jer 29:11; Gen 1:27, 31: John 15:16)
Fervent Prayer – Prayer is the believer’s approach to every day.  It is the Christian’s secret to successfully living out our collective faith and individual dreams.  (Luke 18:1; 1 Thess 5:17; James 5:16)
Discipleship – Every believer is commissioned to “make disciples”. It is what Christians are called to do. (Matt 28:18-20)
Serving One Another – It is the example that Jesus gave us. It is the only path to greatness in the Kingdom of Heaven and the sole expression of the love of Christ flowing through us. (Phil 2:5-7; Matt 20:26-28; Gal 5:13)
Daily Worship – God is looking for worshippers. Worship is a daily lifestyle of praise, prayer and thanksgiving, not a once a week act of singing and lifting of hands. (John 4:23-24)
Integrity – Integrity means that we do what we say and live what we teach both publicly and privately. (Matt 7:21, 24)
Missions – Short-term missions is a great way for believers to be witnesses to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
Gifts – The local church is to empower members for all areas of life, equip each member for ministry and help each member discover, develop and deploy their life purpose and mission. (Eph 4:8)
Giving – It is the act of stewardship be each individual in a strong, healthy, local church where each member sows their time, finances, spiritual gifts and ministry for God’s greater glory. (Rom 12; Luke 6:30-38; Gal 6:7-10)
Joy – The fruit of receiving Jesus Christ and walking in His way daily! (John 10:10, 15:11, 13:17)
